Admiral launches the Fuchsia Appeal

-

THE Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Mark Mellett launched O.N.E.’s ‘Fuchsia 2018’, - a fundraiser for homeless veterans of the Defence Forces and veterans who have fallen on hard times.

Drogheda man Ollie O Connor, Chief Executive of O.N.E. remarked, “O.N.E. already runs homes for veterans in Dublin, Athlone, Letterkenny, with veteran support centre’s in Limerick and Dundalk. We will open a further 11 veteran support centres in 2018 and need ongoing funding to support this work. With the necessary funding we plan to expand our services in line with current and increasing needs. Many veterans who experience challenges at a particular time in their lives have given dedicated service both at home and overseas. They need and deserve our support”

O.N.E. provides accommodation for approximately 44 veterans in its three residential homes in Dublin, Letterkenny and Athlone.

The Fuchsia Appeal is ONE’s main vehicle of fundraising. The appeal is open throughout the year but is focused during the month of July.
