THE long-awaited Drogheda Primary Care Centre in Patrick’s Street, Drogheda will open its doors this Wednesday at 9am.

The centre will replace the Peter’s Street facility based in the Laurence Town Centre, which will continue to be used by the HSE and planning is at an advanced stage pending an announcement by the HSE.

The Primary Care Centre is to be known as “Boyne Primary Care Centre” and will incorporate primary care services, dental and civil registration.

The HSE will provide a full range of primary care services from the centre including: Public Health Nursing (Child Child Health and Welfare and Care of the Older Person); Psychology; Speech and Language Therapy; Physiotherapy; Podiatry; Wound Management; Phlebotomy; Occupational Therapy; Dietetics and Nutritional advice and support and Schemes Support (Medical Cards, EHIC, LTI)

Phase 1 of the centre has been in operation since May 1st, which restored full Dental Services to South Louth Primary Care Services. The Drogheda North Dental facility offers 5 fully equipped dental surgeries that will cater for the needs of over 20,000 children in the area. Included in the facility is one dedicated dental surgery fully equipped for the care of our special needs patients, both adult and children.

Boyne Primary Care Centre supplements and supports the extensively refurbished Ballsgrove Primary Care Centre that was re-opened in January 2018 following a fire.
