€8,000 boost for the Homeless Aid

DROGHEDA Homeless Aid held its Annual Golf Classic in the County Louth Golf Club Baltray and Maureen Ward, DHA Manager stated that she was delighted with the response to the event, as there was a full time card, with 37 teams participating on the day.

Drogheda Credit Union and John Walsh of Centra, Hardman’s Gardens were the main sponsors of the classic and there was also a huge amount of prize and other sponsors who helped Drogheda Homeless Aid in meeting the fund-raising target of €8,000.

Maureen added ‘ The social media community called #LouthChat helped enormously in promoting the event and many of its users, ranging from Stockwell Artisan Foods, Bare Food Company, EMS & Associates, Black Bull, Richmond Fort, Fuschia Make-Up, Bellewstown Races, Emma’s Soy Candles, Ardee, Ghan House, Carlingford, & Listoke Distillery, Tenure, all of whom provided sponsorship and a wonderful range of prizes in support of the event.’

The results of the DHA Golf Classic 2018 were: 1ST (89 pts) were team Ocorion – a Dublin-based leasing company - ; winning team members were John Carolan, Oisin Kelly & Gordon Hatch. 2ND (82 pts) were Olive Morgan, Susan Carroll and Helen Donoghue - sponsored by Champion Lettings. 3RD (80 pts) - Brian Duffy, Damien McCoy and Oran Durnan Sponsored by Ardee Leisure. The presentation ceremony in Baltray was MC’d by Cllr Oliver Tully
