IT was a big night recently for some little stars, as Playmates Montessori School held their end of year Graduation for the pupils leaving them to attend national school in September.

The graduates were Danielle Brady, Nikita Borenkov, Joel Carpen, Chloe Fennell, Healy, Millie Healy, Junqi Huang, Bao Nam Ninh, Maia Tang, Caoimhe Walshe, Elise Webb and Amanda from in the morning class. Anayah Asif, Rose Gadou, Mohamed Gharib, Rares Giurgi, Islam Hassa and Austeja Kackauskaite, Gustas Orla and Mia Xue from the afternoon class.

Teacher and owner of the school Jackie Walshe said all pupils did her proud and she will miss them all.

“It was as always an emotional time as it is a major step, not only for the pupils but for their parents. We try and make the graduation memorable for each child and parent,” she said emotionally.

“We have watched them grow and learn so much over their time with us, but we have also learnt a lot from them”.

The Graduation started off with the children lighting their graduation candle. They were then presented with a class certificate which stated they attended Playmates Montessori School for one two or three years.

Following this they were presented with their Letter certificates: This was an emotional certificate especially for the teachers.

The teachers wrote a letter to each pupil and presented it on the night. We wrote about how much we have seen them grow and flourish over their time with us. They were than written up and printed off in certificate style.

The children than presented their parents with their graduation gifts which included their certificates, graduation candle and a set of their handprints with the hand print poem. Each class sang a variety of songs that the children picked from throughout the year.

“We finished off with the children performing “Big Big Girl in a Big Big world” the boys sang “Boy” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the school. It was a lovely celebration filled with emotion and pride,” adds Jackie.

“They all sang really well and their parents and teachers were so proud of them.”

Playmates Montessori School is relocating to St Joseph’s and Presentation national schools this September. The schools will be mixed preschools so both boys and girls can attend either preschool. We will be open from 8.50am – 12.30pm Monday to Friday. The school can be contacted 086 3697983 or via their Facebook page Playmates
