DULEEK TIDY TOWNS

Well done to “22nd Meath Duleek / Donore Scouts” for erecting a “Bug Hotel”on the green area on the Station Rd. This will be of great interest to children when the hotel fills up with guests. Credit also to every body who gave up their time weeding and watering plants, flower beds, hanging baskets etc. and especially the lads who are out doing a great job picking up the litter.

DULEEK COMMUNITY SHOP

The shop celebrates 5 years on the Main Street on 2nd of July 2018 and 5 years previously on the Navan Rd. Thanks to all who supply goods for sale and all our customers who make it possible to support local groups and charities.

TRIP TO GOREY

The Womens Forum is planning a trip to Gorey in Co. Wexford, staying in the Ashdown Park Hotel and Leisure centre for 3 nights from Monday 24th until Thursday 27th of September. If interested please contact Ann on 041-9823415.

BARN DANCE

There will be a barn dance in aid of Cancer Research at Cushinstow­n AC Kilmoon Cross on Saturday 7th July,2018. The net proceeds of ticket sales will go to the Oncology Unit, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda (please google NECRET.ie) and OCF (Oesophagea­l Cancer Fund). Tickets cost €25.00, include supper and are available from Bowens Shop Kentstown, Snail Box Bar & Restaurant, Kilmoon, Davids Butchers Trimgate St. Navan or contact 086 3674303. DULEEK HERITAGE GROUP

The group would like to celebrate “The year of the Woman” by honouring local heroines. If you know somebody who’s life you wish to celebrate, please send their profile and a photo or two to catrionadi­llon@hotmail.com or hand it in at the Library or Tourist Office (in the Courthouse). We will include them in our exhibition.

Dublin Library is hosting a summer programme in July for children. All events are free unless otherwise stated. Places are limited, so if interested, please contact the library on 041-9880709 to book your place!

Children’s Summer Reading Scheme – Summer Stars! Is aimed at children aged 6 – 12 years. Join the summer reading challenge where on registrati­on you will receive a free reader card which is stamped for each book you read, a sticker and a bookmark. Read 4 books and you receive a fab summer stars bag! Read 8 books and you are put in to the draw for a chance to win a Kindle Fire Tablet! Everyone who reads one book receives a certificat­e. Games Activity Hour takes place every Saturday from 11am until 12pm for children aged 6 to 12 years of age. Come along for an hour of board games and activity sheets! Gymboree Workshop takes place on Wednesday 4th of July at 12pm for under 6’s. Music and movement for parents and toddlers.

Peter Rabbit Workshop takes place Friday 6th of July at 11am for ages 3-6 years. Come along for stories and great craft activities based on this lively character! Arts & Crafts – Ninjas and Princesses for ages 7-9 years taking place on Wednesday 11th of July at 3pm. Thomas the Tank Engine Workshop takes place on Friday 13th of July at 11am for ages 3-6. Stories, DVDs, crafts and build a train set! Minecraft tips and tricks workshop with Conor Murphy takes place on Monday 23rd of July at 11am for ages 7+. Tall Tales and Terrifying Tidbits Stories for Children taking place Wednesday 25th of July at 11am for ages 6+ with storytelle­r Melissa Baker.
