34 theft and forgery charges
A 38-year- old woman accused of 34 theft and forgery charges allegedly involving a total sum of € 48,566.81, has been sent for trial in the circuit criminal court.
Gillian Curran, Marian Park, Drogheda, is charged with 21 counts of theft at Yellowbatter Post Office, four counts of theft at Pearse Park, Drogheda, three counts of theft at Marian Park, and a further two theft charges at Ulster Bank, Drogheda.
She is also accused of three counts of forgery at a location unknown, and another forgery at the Department of Social Protection, Drogheda. All of the offences are alleged to have occurred on 16 August, 2011. A book of evidence was served on the defendant last Friday and she was sent forward for trial, on her own bail of € 100, to Dundalk circuit criminal court on 2 October Curran was granted legal aid for two counsel.
