Man has paid back €15,000
A 44-year- old man who pleaded guilty to charges relating to dole fraud in the amount of € 30,985.80 has had his case further adjourned to 11 January, 2019 to come up with the balance of compensation. Keith White, Athcarne, Duleek admitted furnishing incorrect information and a false signature to the Department of Social Welfare on three dates, 13 September, 2013; 18 February, 2014 and 17 February, 2015.
Sgt Ray Brady said the DPP directed the matter can be summarily dealt with in the district court on a plea of guilty only.
Barrister Sarah Jane Judge said White ‘begged, borrowed and stole’ from his family to pay back € 15,000 so far and if given time will discharge the rest. ‘I want all the money paid back,’ Judge Coughlan said as he adjourned the case.
