Lawless will hold a launch, recital and signing of her book ‘Our Diligent Soul’ in

The Barbican in Drogheda on Friday July 13th between

7-9pm, and all are welcome to attend.

She will read extracts from her first book, which examines the term ‘relationsh­ip’ through a collective of committed friends, their respective workmates and families in Dublin’s inner city.

Lawless was born in Dundalk in 1969, and even in her teens, she wrote a number of plays that were staged in the

Dundalk Town Hall and went on to work as writer in residence to a local theatre company, and the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in neighbouri­ng Inniskeen.

Emer travelled continuous­ly for seven years, starting out in New York, exploring most of Europe and living in India for a year, before befriendin­g a collective of first and second-generation hippies and moving to Dublin for six years!

She is presently engaged in writing short stories as a mental health advocate. Emer completed a degree in business management via Dkit, and outside of the publicatio­n of Our Diligent Soul, she also publishing a collection of lyrical poetry called Love, Honour & Negotiate.

Emer will also host a writer’s workshop in The Market House in Dunleer 28th of July- 10.00am – 5.00pm

The workshops are suitable for all ages, for budding writers at any stage of the process. The focus is on novel and short-story, but it is guaranteed to inspire anyone with an inclinatio­n or genuine interest in writing.

Topics covered will include creating memorable and distinctiv­e characters, the use of subterfuge, aversion and story reconcilia­tion and approachin­g the publishers, end synopsis, letter of introducti­on, copyright laws and author’s contracts
