Aoife jumps to gold
ONE gold and two bronze medals were collected by the four-strong Cushinstown contingent as they made a successful trip to Tullamore for Saturday’s National Juvenile B Championships.
The highlight came in the Under-13 high jump where Aoife Rohan jumped brilliantly to take first place, while Kevin Doyle threw brilliantly to secure bronze in the U-12 Boys shot putt and Abi Sheehy performed very well to take third place in the Girls U-15 long jump.
Kevin Doyle also did well in the high jump, as did Nia Hetherton in the U-12 Girls shot putt and high jump, but with no medal success, while Abi Sheehy just missed out on a podium finish in the U-15 100m sprint final after finishing second in her heat.
