THE President of the Football Association of Ireland for the next two years will be Mr. Charles H. Walsh, Drogheda’s representative on the council since the club’s entry to senior football.

His election culminates 11 years of dedication and hard work for the club and association alike and he should prove a very worthy and competent ambassador for the game in the country on the many overseas deputations that arises over two years- in the reign of the president.

Mr. Walsh, a most capable and popular administrator who recently completed his year as president of the League of Ireland, has we are sure the best wishes and support from all soccer followers in the town and district as the first Drbgheda official to assume the highest position in the Football Association of Ireland.

Drogheda’s new representative on the council will be Mr. B. Vincent Hoey, who like Mr Walsh has been a director of the club since its formation as a League of Ireland club.

Mr. Hoey recently relinquished the position of chairman of the club which he held for five years to be replaced by Mr. Tony Smith.

Mr. Hoey should also prove a very worthy administrator for his club at Merrion Square and at the first meeting of the council for 1974-75 held on Saturday last was elected on to one of the sub-committees—the Protest Committee.
