Congratula­tions to Michael Englishby from School Lane who celebrated his 70th birthday last week. Yes, I know it’s hard to believe. Following a lovely evening “on the hill” at Bellewstow­n races Michael, friends and family came back to Mathews bar to be greeted to a surprise gathering to mark this special occasion. A great night was had by all and Michael is wished the very best from everyone in the community.

MATTOCK SUMMER CAMPS

Mattock Rangers Community Centre will be holding summer camps on 9th to 13th July,16th to 20th July ,13th to 17th August and 20th to 24th August.

Camp times 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. Cost €65 per week. Age groups 5 to 12 years. Lots of fun guaranteed. Children should bring packed lunch and change of clothes every day. HELP ORLA MCKENNA

Best of luck to my friend Orla McKenna from Kells Road who is competing in the Corinthian Jockeys Challenge in aid of the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund. Orla will ride in 3 races over the next few months with the first one on July 22nd at The Curragh. As part of the Challenge Orla has to raise 10k and is holding a golf classic in Ashbourne Golf Club on Friday 10th August. ROSSIN ROVERS NEWS

Rossin Rovers is a community based club based in Rossin on the Drogheda /Slane road. The club is going strong now for over 35 years in both senior and juvenile football. They are trying to take a pro - active approach to worrying decline in team sports and with that in mind they are trying to grow their underage structure from U8 on onwards, so if you’ve got kids, grandkids, niece, nephews from the Drogheda, Slane, Tullyallen areas not playing football and who would to take it up, feel to contact club to get them playing, or if you’re interested in taking up coaching the club woud love to get you involved. DEFIBRILLA­TOR FUND RAISING

GREENHILLS SUMMER CAMP

The first of the Greenhills Summer Sports Camp is taking place this week (July 9th – 13th ) but not to worry if you have missed it as there is a second camp on July 16th – 20th. MEN’S SHED

The Tullyallen Men’s Shed meet on Tuesday & Friday mornings at 10am in the Glen Emmets Clubhouse. The Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. All new members are more than welcome to come along for a chat and cup of tea. So why not go along and see what it’s all about.

TEENAGE KICKS

The Glen Emmets are running a Teenage Kicks Summer camp from 24th to 28th July, 10am to 2pm each day. It’s a great way to improve your skills with experience­d coaches and there is limited availabili­ty for this camp. It is aimed at kids aged 13 to 16 years and costs only €40.
