Sharon Shannon brings her class to town for Fleadh

SHARON Shannon the button accordion player from Co Clare has recorded and toured with a who’s who of the Irish and Global Music Industry, including Bono, Adam Clayton, Sinead O’Connor, Jackson Browne, John Prine ,Steve Earle, The RTE Concert Orchestra, The Chieftains, The Waterboys, Willie Nelson, Nigel Kennedy, Alison Krauss and Shane MacGowan .

Her 12 studio recorded albums to date have all been very different and groundbrea­king mixing traditiona­l Irish with reggae, country, Native American, bluegrass, rap, dance, African,French Canadian.

Her music has been featured in several Hollywood movies and she also played a cameo role in the Neil Jordan movie ‘Ondine’.

Sharon brings her show to the TLT on August 14. Tickets €27.50. Sharon will be joined on the night with Jack Maher, Sean Regan and Jim Murray.

Kilfenora Ceili Band

The world renowned Kilfenora Céilí Band, regarded by afficianad­oes as the quintessen­tial Irish céilí band, will be joined by acclaimed singer Edel Vaughan from Co. Clare and dancers Laura Minogue, (Co. Clare), Deirdra Kiely (Co. Waterford), and world champions Michael and Matthew Gardiner (Co Galway) to perform an uplifting, energetic and entertaini­ng show on Thursday August 16th 2018 at the TLT.

This traditiona­l legendary group take their rich musical heritage into the future with a show that is expertly choreograp­hed, together with beautifull­y sung airs and witty repartee.

The Kilfenora Céilí Band is made up of leader John Lynch (banjo, mandolin), Claire Griffin (accordion), Tim Collins (concertina), Gary Shannon (flute, whistle), Anthony Quigney (flute, whistle, piano), AnneMarie McCormack (fiddle), Sinéad Heagney (fiddle/viola), Anne Rynne (fiddle), Eimear Howley (fiddle & banjo), Fintan McMahon (piano), Sean Griffin (drums) and Brian O’Grady (double bass) and Sharon Howley (cello).
