THE East Border Region Ltd met in Drogheda recently, with Millmount providing a perfect backdrop.
It is a Local Authority led organisation which comprises six Local Authorities namely; Newry, Mourne & Down District Council, Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council, and Ards and North Down Borough Council in Northern Ireland and Louth, Monaghan and Meath County Councils in the Republic Of Ireland.
Its aim is ‘ To work with stakeholders throughout the East Border Region to ensure balanced and sustainable development on a cross border basis’.

Jackie Crowe (Monaghan Co. Co.), Lorraine Stewart (East Border Region) and Emer O’Gorman (Louth Co. Co.). DKIT will be offering a suite of new upskilling courses for the academic year 2018-2019 as part of the new Springboard+ 2018 initiative.
The institute are offering 124 places on a variety of part-time Springboard+ courses to applicants who qualify under the government scheme. The upskilling and reskilling courses are free for the unemployed and for homemakers while the employed can avail of a 90% discount.
DkIT Springboard+ courses are fully accredited and are available in NFQ Levels 6, 7 and 8. Courses include: Certificate in Digital Marketing and Digital Media Management, Diploma in Food and Agri-business, Diploma in Food Supply Chain Operations, Higher Diploma in Science in Data Analytics Certificate in Data Analytics for Business. Also being offered is a Higher Diploma in 3D Computer Animation, and a Certificate in Applied Electrical Engineering, and a Certificate in Sound Design and Implementation for Interactive Media.
