MISLEADING HEADLINE

A Headline which appeared in the local paper recently stated that, quote, “Frank wants more toilets”. Unquote. The article applied to Frank Godfrey, Drogheda’s esteemed Mayor. Whatever reason as to why Frank wants more toilets I just hope that he hasn’t got the runs.

G.A.A

The Dubs have no home, according to those who know. Croke park is only rented out to the Dublin team, therefore they don’t own it, and as they don’t own it they cannot claim it as their home venue. The final eight teams have qualified for the round Robin format. Its two groups of four teams. Each group will play the other three teams. Each team will have an away, a home and a neutral venue, except Dublin who have two “away games” in Croke park. If they qualify for the All- Ireland semi and final that’s another two away in Croke park. It’s time they got their own patch.

WEDDING

Love was all around on Saturday 7th July as the marriage took place of Keith Brennan and Emma Jean Duff in St. Catherine’s Church Ballapousta.

Following a lovely ceremony by Cannon Peter Murphy the bridal party and guests travelled to Trim Castle Hotel for a wonderful reception. The sun shone on as guests mingled on the roof top garden with the historic Trim Castle in the background.

Assisting the beautiful bride was Tracey McCarron and Lisa Duff who both looked stunning in pale pink dresses. Alongside the ever dapper Keith was his Best Men Ryan Burns and Ciaran Maguire who all looked very handsome in their suits.

Flower girl was Ava Brennan and Page Boy was Jack McCarron who had very important duties to do on the day and done a wonderful job. Dancing continued after the meal into the wee hours. Family and friends would like to wish the newlyweds the very best of luck, health and happiness in their future together.

NEW BABY

Congrats and best wishes are sent to Tanya and Darren Henry on the recent birth of their son who was born on the 6th July in Our Lady of Lourdes hospital. The beautiful boy will be christened Lewis and big brother Jamie has lots of cuddles for his new baby brother.
