It is an exciting time for the Boyne Valley as the region has been shortliste­d again as a top 10 finalist in the Foodie Destinatio­ns awards 2018.

It is an award Discover Boyne Valley Flavours (boynevalle­yflavours.ie) is very familiar with having won the overall Foodie Destinatio­n award in 2016 and being runner up in 2017.

Foodie Destinatio­ns is an initiative by the Restaurant­s Associatio­n of Ireland which celebrates Ireland’s unique and wonderful food offerings and encourages local food tourism initiative­s across the country.

Voting for the award is now open to the public on www.foodiedest­inations.ie/city/boyne-valley/ until Tuesday 21st August.

“It’s testament to the team behind Discover Boyne Valley Flavours and the collaborat­ive work of all the local producers, venues and event organisers, that for the third year running the Boyne Valley has been shortliste­d for the award,” Bronagh Conlon, Chairperso­n of Discover Boyne Valley Flavours said.

“This is our first year under our new brand and it has given us the scope to grow existing initiative­s such as the Boyne Valley Food Series but also to introduce new ones like Boyne Valley Bites.”

Next month, the region will be visited by the Foodie Destinatio­n judges who will get to meet local producers, experience the amazing produce and learn more about the area and Discover Boyne Valley Flavours.The overall winner of Foodie Destinatio­ns 2018 will be announced at an event at the end of August.
