The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre Land of Legends 8K takes place in the picturesqu­e village of Clogherhea­d on September 2.

The course incorporat­es the beach, headland, farmlands, harbour and pier.

You can run, jog, walk or crawl the 8km route to become a Legend!

While on route you will encounter natural and man-made obstacles.

The 27th Infantry Battalion will put you through your paces on the beach (no mercy shown here) followed by the Farmer’s Pyramids – dizzy heights. Yes, there is a swamp, water and muck in abundance. AND - the Piece de Resistance – the Harbour challenge.

It all starts at 11am and there’s Chip Timing on the day.

The first 300 registered will be guaranteed a top quality technical t-shirt.

IF you have never sampled the unique experience of making gin - here’s your chance.

The Listoke Gin School Experience takes place on Thursday 13th September from 1 - 3pm.

Experience an afternoon in Ireland’s only Gin school.

Each person will have their own “station” with copper pot still. They tell you about the history of gin and you get to enjoy some Listoke 1777 gin with tonic.

You then go about distilling your own bespoke bottle of gin, to your recipe and tastes. You bottle, name, label and cork your gin to bring home (in a 700ml bottle).

PRICE: €95pp incl.G&T’s, finger food, bottle of gin to take home after distilling your own.

The day is part of the Boyne Valley Food Series.
