August 1957

THE Aeriocht and Children’s Sports held in St. Brigid’s School, Drogheda, on Sunday last, proved highly successful, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the large attendance of Drogheda folk who patronised it. The varied programme held something of interest for all and, as there were many handsome medals and prizes to be won, excitement and rivalry ran high throughout the afternoon.

The smooth manner in which all the events were run off was a tribute to the enthusiastic - and exceedingly hard-worked — committee, all of whom are members of the Lourdes Stall.

The contributions of pipers, Paig Stanley and Peter Curran, helped to add immensely to the day’s enjoyment and all the items of traditional Irish music which they rendered were well received. Other‘musicians present included, Pat Usher, Paddy Boylan and Peter Boylan.
