ITS official! Gormanston Wood Nursing Home has won the overall National Q Mark title for Best Nursing Home of the Year 2018 at The National Q Mark Awards.

Their nomination put them in the top 6.75% of all audits completed by the Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA) on the island of Ireland and this win means they are at the very top of the Q for highest standards of Quality and Excellence.

“The size, location and culture makes Gormanston Wood a unique Nursing Home. It’s the people that make a place special and the team here are truly unique,” said Irene Collins, Managing Director of EIQA at this year’s awards.

“By focusing on best practice and quality standards they provide a high level of exceptional care. Winning The Q Mark for Nursing Homes recognises that”.

Known as The Oscars of Business Excellence, The Q Mark Award is the highest accolade an Irish business can achieve, given both the intense competition and the exacting standards required.

Also up for nomination were two Co Louth businesses, Hannon’s Centra, Mell in Drogheda and St. Peter’s Nursing Home in Castlebellingham, meaning they also were in the top 6.75% of all audits completed by the EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association) on the island of Ireland.

Held on September 29th in Dublin, this was a very special year for the Q Mark Awards as the EIQA celebrate 50 years. They in turn celebrate the success of businesses over a range of sectors that review 100% of their processes.
