-

ON Wednesday morning last following Budget 2019, a packed attendance heard a detailed analysis of the budget by a team led by Bernard Doherty, Partner at Grant Thornton, accompanied by his colleagues Una Ryan (Tax Director); Janette Maxwell (Associate VAT Director) and Courtney Cullen (Tax Manager).

The event - organised by Drogheda Chamber - was hosted by Coca Cola International Services at their Southgate, Colpe Cross offices and sponsored by First Citizen Finance. At the event, Robert Murray, the Drogheda based Area Sales and Portfolio Manager at First Citizen used the opportunity to launch their EUR 100 Million lending fund for SME Equipment Finance, which is available for many businesses in the SME sector.

Deputising for Chamber President, Shona McManus, the event was opened by Ken Rooney, Council Member, Drogheda Chamber who welcomed all attending.

“Drogheda Chamber greatly appreciate the support of Grant Thornton; Coca Cola and First Citizen Finance who all helped to make the event possible and it was obvious from the packed attendance that our members and guests really appreciated this timely briefing,” said Ken, who also acknowledged the work the Chamber team had put into organising the event.

“It was obvious from the lively question and answer session afterwards from a packed attendance that both our Chamber members and their guests found the briefing very useful,” concluded Ken, adding that the next major event in the Chamber’s calendar is the Business Excellence Awards dinner at the City North Hotel on Saturday, 24th November.
