First-half goals pave way for easy Rathkenny victory

RATHKENNY BALLIVOR 4-17 3-9

OPENING half goals from Tom Barron, Sean Mongey and Jeaic Timmons paved the way for an easy victory for Rathkenny in the U-21 B FC at Bohermeen on Sunday.

Barron struck for the first goal on three minutes and Rathkenny went on to enjoy a 3-9 to 1-7 lead at the break.

Jack Thompson and Keith Curtis shared six points in that opening half.

There was no way back for Ballivor after Timmons struck for his second goal shortly after the break. Ballivor did manage two third quarter goals but with Curtis taking his tally of points to nine the Rathkenny lead was never seriously threatened.
