Drogheda brand Collar of Gold enjoys sweet taste of success

- By HUBERT MURPHY

THE success of a Drogheda-based brand of cooking oil has proved to be extraordinary, with its latest success coming at the acclaimed Blas na hEireann in Dingle.

Collar of Gold was awarded the ‘Chef ’s Choice’ - and that above all in a highly competitive field - was some achievement.

Peter McCloskey is the brains behind the brand and it has a simple message - “It allows you to taste the goodness of your food only and does not add a smell, taste, colour, or aroma, typical of other pure oils,’ Peter remarks.

Collar of Gold can be found in stores throughout the country - including SuperValu - not bad for a brand that was only founded last year.

Collar of Gold is a rapeseed oil and is suitable for cold and high-temperature uses, and is sourced from Irish farmers. It is used in a number of top restaurants in Ireland and the UK.

It is 100% Natural and high in Omegas 3 and 6.

There are big plans to take Collar of Gold on a bigger journey in the years ahead.
