Fianna Fail say that Mayor Godfrey can ask anyone he wants to speak at a meeting

-

Dear Sir,

On behalf of the Comhairle Dail Ceantair, Fianna Fáil, for the constituency of Louth/East Meath, we refer to to the letter to your publication written by the PRO of the South Louth, East Meath, Fianna Fáil printed in your edition of 23/10/2018.

In this letter Mr Anthony Moore rebukes Mayor Godfrey’s decision to have a Dundalk Councillor deliver a talk on the Impact of the Ireland2040 plan on Drogheda.

We would like to advise that the comments expressed within this letter were the individual views of the writer Mr Anthony Moore and not the views of Fianna Fáil within the constituency.

We also advise that Mr Moore did not seek clearance to express these views as this matter was not discussed within the party.

Fianna Fáil within the constituency recognizes that it is the prerogative of the Mayor to invite whomever he deems suitable to speak at events organized by his Office. Yours, Louth and East Meath Comhairle Dáil Ceantair.
