Kevinretired toenjoylifein Castlebellingham
Kevin O’Hare, Main Street, Castlebellingham, who died on 3 September, 2018, was a native of Co. Armagh.
He was born in Dromintee, south Armagh, into a farming family, and lived there for 25 years.
A hard worker, who loved animals, Kevin, as a young man, served his time as a bricklayer with G. Wimpey
& Co., Belfast. He received certificates for Silver Trowel.
He built some notable buildings, including the Bank of Ireland, Dundalk and Dundalk Institute of Technology, where he did some fine brickwork.
Kevin left Dromintee after
25 years, and married and raised a family in Dundalk.
He started working in Macardle Moore Brewery and was the youngest transport driver.
He spent almost 30 years with the brewery and there was not a road in Ireland, north and south, that he did not know. Indeed, it could be said he travelled the highways and byways of the country.
When Kevin retired, he went to reside in Castlebellingham. He loved living in any part of the south, and was well settled with family and friends.
He enjoyed television, especially documentaries, news and sport.
In his youth he was a good footballer, and in later years played snooker and pool, while he liked the odd bet on the horses.
Kevin also liked working on projects and could turn his hand to anything.
He loved a few pints, calling into his local and beyond for a good laugh, plenty of craic and telling old stories and yarns.
Kevin was predeceased by his son, Niall; mother, Brigid and father, Felix.
His funeral took place in St Joseph’s Redemptorist Church, followed by burial in Louth Cemetery.
Kevin will be sadly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
