Successful day for Ardee
ARDEE & District AC enjoyed a 50% success rate as two of their four teams finished on the podium in Sunday’s Athletics Louth’s Juvenile Inter-Club Cross-Country Relay Championships in Newtownstalaban, Drogheda.
The sun shone brightly and the temperature was mild as the athletes converged on this amazing new facility, hosted by Drogheda & District AC.
Up first were the Boys Under-10 relay team of Alex Callan, Max O’Sullivan, Daniel Cirdei and Oran Lynch and they ran their hearts out to finish in fifth place.
Next for Ardee & District were the Boys Under-12 team of Charlie Sands, Arthur Sands, Jack Dowdall and Dylan McCarron and they ran an impressive race, moving up to finish in third place in an exciting finale.
Ardee & District’s Girls Under-14 team of Orlaith Carolan, Ruth Gillespie, Samantha McCarron and Hallie Sands took to the course next, finishing in fifth place, and ending the day with second-place teams were the club’s Girls Under-16 team of Emma Gillespie, Rebecca McCarron, Eireann Hoey and Orlaith Carolan.
