VINCENT MC GLEW R.I.P.
Much sadness has been expressed at the death of Vincent Mc Glew, Coolkirk following an illness very bravely borne. Farming was his life and he was very well respected in the farming community. He was a member of Macra na Feirme during the 1970s but his other passion was St. Fechin’s GFC. He was part of the team that was victorious against Kilkerely in the Louth Championship in 1976 which saw St. Fechin’s elevated to Senior Status.
His moment came in 1983 when St. Fechin’s defeated the Geraldines in the County Senior Final and again in 1984 when they defeated St. Joseph’s to retain the Senior title, a most significant win as it was the GAA Centenary year.
He was also on the 1985 team that lifted the Cardinal O’Donnell Cup following the defeat of Cooley. Three years ago, Vincent was elected Honourary President of St. Fechin’s and in the last 21 years since the Club started its Lotto, he managed to raise almost €40,000 for the Club.
We offer our deepest sympathy to his family, relations and friends. Requiem Mass was offered in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Funeral in the Old Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

The next Termonfeckin ICA Guild meeting is on Wednesday November 7th in An-Grianan. New members are always welcome.
TERMONFECKIN MACRA.
Termonfeckin Macra na Feirme is celebrating its 70th Anniversary. To mark the occasion, there will be a night of celebration, nostalgia and entertainment (music and dance) in Drumshallon Forge on Friday November 9th at 8pm. Admission is €10. Tickets can be ordered from Aoife at 087-6262197, Helena at 0879381803 or by messaging Macra Tearmann Feichin facebook page. Hopefully many former members will attend. The next monthly meeting will be held in Sandpit Hall on Wednesday November 14th at 9pm. New members most welcome as always. ST. FECHINS LOTTO.
There was no winner of the Lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 20 and 22. The winner of €100 was Rose Tiernan. €20 winners were Niall Mc Cabe, Anne Deveny, David Kirwan, Aidan Savage and Kieran Flynn. The jackpot is now worth €2,300 and is sponsored by Madden’s Centra, Termonfeckin.
TERMONFECKIN CELTIC.
Congratulations to the Termonfeckin Celtic Under-12 team who emerged victorious in the Drogheda Children’s League U-12 Plate recently. They beat Grove Rangers by 3 goals to 1. Goalkeeper Evan Mc Cluskey also received the “Man of the Match” award.
SET DANCING.
Set Dancing continues on Thursday nights in Sandpit Hall at 8.30pm. There are classes for all standards and beginners are very welcome.
SEAPOINT PITCH & PUTT.
Results of Week 4 of the Turkey Competition which was an 18 Nett. Senior-1st: Fechin Rath 44, 2nd: Jim Judge 45. Inter-William Finnegan Snr 49 (ob9 23), 2nd: Anto Mullen 49. Junior-1st: Frank Penders 52, 2nd: Jim Donnelly 53. Ladies- 1st: Mary Agnew 54, 2nd Ann Ward 55. Last weekend was Week 5 of the Turkey competition which was an 18 Nett. The Club also held a Turkey Fourball on the October Bank Holiday Monday, the results of which will be in next week’s paper and also on www.seapointpitchandputt. com
NOVEMBER ROSARY.
The Rosary is being prayed on Sundays during November in memory of our beloved dead. This Sunday November 11th, the Rosary is at 3pm in Holy Cross Cemetery.
FINANCE COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Parish Finance Committee takes place this Tuesday November 6th at 8.30pm in the Parochial House. All members are asked to attend.
PASTORAL COUNCIL.
There will be a meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council on Wednesday November 7th at 7.30pm in the Credit Union Offices. All members are asked to attend.
ADORATION.
Eucharistic Adoration takes place on Monday evenings from 7-8pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Why not come and spend some quiet time in the presence of the Lord.
