Sacred Heart will be all shook up in the TLT!
SACRED Heart School production of ‘All Shook Up’ - the musical - will take place in the TLT theatre on November 21st and 22nd.
All Shook up is a 2004 American Jukebox musical with Elvis Presley music and with a book by joe DiPietro. The story is based on William Shakespeare’s play ‘ Twelfth Night’ .
Sacred Heart music teacher Ms. Collins is excited to present what will be the 20th Anniversary show. The students are given the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their artistic talents. The girls are involved in every aspect of the show from acting, singing ,dancing lighting, sound, make up, promotion, set design and backstage.
She says, ‘It has been a tradition of the SHS that our 5th year students present the annual school musical. We have had a wonderful team working together to help the girls stage their show. Producer Ms.Tracey Murtagh, Choreographer Ms. Gillian Harte and myself as Musical Director and Vocal coach, have worked together on every show for the last twenty years. We are delighted with the wonderful commitment of all students who have been in rehearsals since September to bring this show to the stage.’
Sets and design are guided by Ms. Sharon Stafford who together with 5th year art students always do a wonderful job. Mr. Eoghan Darcy and Patrick Leddy from the TLT are involved in stage set and design also.
The show would not be possible without the support of school Principal Ms. Leoni Carroll and the teachers at the Sacred Heart School.
They will take you from ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ to ‘Burning Love’ and throw in some ‘Jailhouse Rock’. So put on your ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ and get ‘ All Shook Up’!
The lead roll of Chad will be played by Jessica Donagh, Natalie by Kaitlyn Peoples, Dennis by Rachel Callan, Lorraine by Amy McKenna , and Sandra by Shannon Heenan. Other main rolls in the cast are Jim played by Caoimhe McPeake, Dean by Aisling McGee , Mayor Matilda by Roisin McDonnacha and Sheriff Earl played by Kayla O’Hanlon. There are over eighty dancers and singers performing in this years show.
