Furze boys capture Under-13 league silverware
SENESCHALSTOWN RATOATH 1-12 1-4
A GOAL from Sam Kirwan on the stroke of half-time proved crucial as Seneschalstown emerged winners of the U-13 FL Division 1 title at Dunganny.
Kirwan netted after Alex Finnegan prevented the ball from going out of play and it left Seneschalstown leading 1-6 to 1-3 at the break.
There was little to choose between two well-matched sides in the opening half, with Ratoath leading by the minimum following a well-worked goal.
Eamon Finnegan and Kirwan pointed to put Seneschalstown back in front and it looked as if the sides would finish the half level after Ratoath hit an equaliser. However, they never recovered from the concession of that goal, despite hitting the opening point of the second half. They failed to add to their tally for the remainder of the match as Seneschalstown took control.
Cian Commons hadthem off the mark in the second half before Robbie Finnegan hit a hattrick of points. Sub Kyle Hosie added to their lead and Kirwan took his tally to 1-4.
