Shootout loss for Grammar

DROGHEDA Grammar School suffered an agonising defeat in their FAI Schools North East Leinster Senior Division 2 League Final at Oriel Park last Wednesday.

The Boynesider­s drew 2-2 after extra time with Donabate Community College but lost 4-2 on penalty kicks.

There was also disappoint­ment for St Joseph’s CBS as they were beaten 8-3 by Hartstown Community School in a high-scoring Minor Boys Leinster Cup quarter-final at Hartstown Park on Thursday.

Soccer trials

ARDEE Celtic FC are holding open training and trials for their underage girls teams in the town this coming Saturday.

The age groups are Under-10, 12, 14 and 16 and the training takes place at the club’s grounds at Townspark from 10am to 11.30am.

Six winners

NUMBERS drawn in last week’s Duleek AFC/SBG FC lotto were 3, 11, 16, 22 and the six €20 prizes went to P Levins, P Heeney, A Finglas, K Murray, S Coleman and L Condron.

The draw takes place every Thursday at 8.30pm in the Duleek AFC clubhouse, tickets are available from committee members and the jackpot remains at €8,000.

NUMBERS drawn in last week’s Seneschals­town GAA Club lotto for a jackpot of €3,500 were 13, 19, 24, 26 and the five €25 winners were Anthony Mooney, John Dillon, Geraldine O’Dea, Maxi McDonagh and Dermot Blake.
