The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to the Gallagher and extended Gallagher Family on the passing of 12 year old Luke Nicholas Gallagher RIP, Yonker’s New York, on Thursday 17th January 2019. Our sympathies are extended in particular to Luke’s parents Paul and Cara (nee Geraghty), his siblings Eoghan, Adrian, Rory, Teresa, Anna, and Matthew, and his grandparen­ts Larry and Carmel Geraghty, Collon, and to his many friends. Congratula­tions to Aoife Roche, now living and working in Australia, daughter of Niall and Nancy Roche, Broomfield who has recently secured National and Internatio­nal Awards for Customer Service Excellence. Her employer, Assetlink issued a Press Release as follows: ‘At the 2018 CSIA Customer Service Institute of Australia Awards, our very own Aoife Roche was awarded Customer Service Manager of the Year Award. We are incredibly proud to announce that Aoife has also been recognised as Winner of the same category at the Internatio­nal Service Excellence Awards held by the Customer Service Institute of America. Congratula­tions Aoife and thank you for your relentless commitment to customer service excellence’! LA FHEILE BRIDE

La Fheile Bride, St. Brigid’s Day, on Friday next 1st February, traditiona­lly marks the transition from Winter to Spring. The tradition of the St. Brigid’s Cross is still very much alive in Ireland today and continues on in Schools, Churches and Communitie­s all around the country. Made from rushes, a St. Brigid’s Cross is hung over doors and windows of houses, barns and stables, as a sign of protection, remaining there until replaced by a new one the following year.

A TUS vacancy exist with Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n. The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenanc­e and up-keep of a number of amenities throughout the District. If you think you are eligible to participat­e in this Scheme, then please contact the Gerard on 087 2729154 for more informatio­n. Self referral forms are available. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnershi­p, the body who have responsibi­lity for implementi­ng the TUS Scheme in this area.
