‘I am very impressed his mother is here,’ Judge Coughlan remarked when dealing with Warren Brady (20).

The defendant, of Rowan Heights, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of drugs at West Street on 8 July last.

Barrister Ronan O’Carroll said his client’s mother stressed he won’t be in trouble again.

There are no previous conviction­s. Legal aid was granted.

The charge was struck out.

Apprentice fined

Keelan McCullagh (20), an apprentice electricia­n, of Ashfield View has paid €200 to charity in order to have an unlawful possession of drugs charge struck out.

He admitted the offence at Boyle O’Reilly Terrace on 14 July last.

Legal aid was granted.

Paid €300 to charity

After he paid €300 to charity, John James McGahan (19), Hawthorn Close, Laurence’s Park, has had an unlawful possession of drugs charge struck out.

The offence happened at Buttergate Apartments, Donore Road, on 30 July last.

The defendant got legal aid.

Donation to charity

Gavin Commons (28), Newlanes, Duleek, has had an unlawful possession of drugs charge struck out after making a €300 donation to charity.

The offence occurred at Millrace, Duleek, on 7 September last.
