Drogheda Independent

Next Tuesday 12th for Humanist meeting

-

AN incorrect date was given in last week’s Drogheda Independent for the first meeting of the Humanist Association of Ireland in the town.

The informal gathering will take place in Scholars Townhouse Hotel, at 8pm on Tuesday February 12th, and not the 6th as printed, and will be hosted by Helen O’Shaughnessy, who will explain more about the philosophy of humanism. All are welcome to attend and find out more information on this philosophy, which is based around compassion, equality and reason.

“The best way to describe being a humanist, is someone who is happy to live a fulfilled life without religion, with no deity, and following the science of the natural world and the universe,” says Helen, a local nurse. “I look forward to meeting a new group of friends through our meetings now, and hope people will come along, with no commitment, and find out more.” Helen is on 087 3511269, helenoreido@icloud.com or through www.celebrant.kiwi.
