Red Hands keep Louth at arms length
TYRONE LOUTH 2-23 1-11
TYRONE condemned Louth to a second straight defeat in Omagh as Damian Casey’s 1-10 haul at Healy Park helped the Red Hands to a comfortable victory.
Louth were hoping to bounce back from an opening round defeat to Roscommon, but their hosts proved too strong, building on a six-point half-time lead.
Casey reeled off the opening six points, and added a goal, but that was cancelled out by a Darren Geoghegan strike to leave Tyrone with a 1-11 to 1-5 cushion at the break. Ryan McKernan smashed home Tyrone’s second goal, and scores from Ciaran Lagan, Tiarnan Morgan, McKernan and Casey kept the visitors at arm’s length.
