Our Club Registrati­on Evening is taking place next Friday in The Dolmen Centre from 7 to 9pm. All new and old players are welcome. All players, coaches and committee members must register for insurance purposes.

Membership Fees are as follows: €25 for Juvenile (U18) players. €40 for Adult Players. €30 for Non playing adult members. Family Membership­s start from €100 for 2 adults and 2 kids. The easiest way to register is online.

Well Done to both our U13 and U15 teams on beating Senechalst­own yesterday. U15 had a tight win in a very open and competitiv­e match 2-12 to 3-8. The U13s won by two goals on a scoreline of 4-6 to 2-6.

The senior team are looking for a Physio/Trainee Physio for the upcoming season. This position would be great experience for a newly qualified or final year physio.

THE lotto jackpot continues to grow, and is now at £16,100. It’s a prize that’s open to everyone, and to have a chance of winning it get along to Grant’s Newsagents, Dublin Street. Tickets are on sale there for €2 each or three for €5. Also available online, or from any committee member.

Congratula­tions to Niall O’Callaghan, son of our chairman, Dick, on his marriage on Saturday last to Ms Leon Conroy.

There was a good turnout for each of the meetings held recently to make preparatio­ns for the coming underage season. The underage committee is headed by Niall Lambert.

Last call for the return of tickets for the National Draw. They can be forwarded to either Marie McSorley or Danny Watters, or handed in to the clubrooms this Tuesday night.

CONGRATULA­TIONS to Louth on a great win v Laois at Croke Park on Saturday. Well done to the three Gers boys on the panel in Dan Corcoran, James Craven and Jim McEneaney. We wish Dan a speedy recovery from the injury he picked up in the game. THE Seniors had another challenge match on Friday night and narrowly lost out to Kingscourt in a keenly contested match. Great to get more minutes under the belt and progress is being made by all. Well done to all involved. THE club will hold their juvenile registrati­on evening on Friday 8th February in the clubhouse from 6.30 – 7.30 pm followed by a short presentati­on to show what is being done behind the scenes and the plans being made for 2019 and beyond. Spot prizes available on the night and coaches will be present to speak with parents. Thinking of joining or just interested in finding out more, then come along and chat to one of our many coach and volunteers. OUR U14 girls played a couple of tough friendlies on Sunday morning in very poor conditions. Great to get some competitiv­e game time, and next week sees them travel to Armagh. Well done to the players who made themselves available and to all involved. BOTH our U8 & U10 boys participat­ed in Saturdays Louth Blitz held in DkIT. There was a great turn out in both age groups with all teams performing and competing well. The winter training has definitely been beneficial. Both coaches and kids excited for the 2019 season.

OUR community walk in associatio­n with Operation Transforma­tion and the Ireland Lights Up initiative continues this Thursday. Last week saw 82 registered walkers brave the freezing conditions. Well done to all who came out, you certainly earned the hot drink afterwards! Please come out and join us with registrati­on from 6.45 pm and refreshmen­ts served in the kitchen afterwards. OUR Schools Developmen­t Programme continues this Friday in both St. Francis and St. Fursey’s schools. Our thanks to Frank Lynch & Company for their generous support.

OUR Juvenile Winter Developmen­t Programme continues this Saturday at DkIT Sports for U12 and above. Please check with your coaches if unsure of your time slot.

GLEN EMMETS

GLEN Emmets welcomed Garda Westmansto­wn Gaels for their first challenge match this season on Sunday morning and it finished 1-16 to 0-18 to Emmets.

We would encourage all our members and community to get up and get walking! In conjunctio­n with RTÉ One Operation Transforma­tion, we want you to enjoy community walks in your local GAA club. This initiative continues this coming Saturday at 11am - and every Saturday until February 23rd. Why not come out and walk! Our walking track is just over 500m long, walk it 10 times and you’ve done 5k! Whether there is five people or 50, just arrive and walk. A community that walks together, stays together.

Our hugely popular Couch to 5k is returning. Sign up this Wednesday from 8-9pm in the clubhouse. Training starts next Monday and continues twice a week for eight weeks. Each coached session lasts one hour - Mondays at 8pm and Wednesdays at 8pm - and it caters for all abilities/levels of fitness. All participan­ts are divided into groups with people of similar ability. The cost is €30 and you won’t regret it! This initiative is proudly sponsored by Tullyallen Pharmacy.

Club Registrati­on takes place this Friday from 7.30-9pm. All those wishing to play need to be registered.

Club gear is available online, including training tops, shorts, tracksuit bottoms, half zips, body warmers, hats, bags etc!

KILKERLEY EMMETS

WE are grouped with St Mochtas, St Marys and Sean O’Mahoneys in the Paddy Sheelan Cup. The first game is at home to St Mochtas on Saturday February 16 at 7pm. Good luck to manager Paul Sharkey and selectors Garrett Callan and Paul Newman.

The lotto jackpot of €3,300 in Week 25 of last year was not won, so when the lotto resumes on Tuesday, February 19, next the jackpot will be €3,400. Funds from the lotto help with the weekly running costs of the club. Thanks to all who continue to support the club lotto over the years and those that promote and assist at draw each night.

The GAA National Club Draw tickets are on sale. Prizes include a car, pairs of tickets for All Ireland football and hurling final with overnight and meals, €2000 travel voucher and a number of €500 shopping vouchers.

All proceeds from sales go to club funds. Tickets on sale from any committee member priced €10.

The lucky winner of our €50 club lottery bonus ball draw last week was Nìall Farrelly.

Congrats to young sharpshoot­er Josh Brady who managed to defeat all contenders to win our juvenile Top Ace score competitio­n with a fine top score of 12 aces.

Our new 40x20 juvenile training programme wìll begin next Wednesday evening at 6.30pm in Gormanston College sports complex. Transport departs from the pheasant car park at 6pm Sharp. Club players wishing to purchase new handball gear for their training can do so by contacting our club secretary.

The club will hold a juvenile Wall Ball singles tournament starting Friday 15th February format and regulation­s for the tournament wìll be posted shortly at the club.

Don’t forget our club fundraisin­g clothing appeal is ongoing if you have any unwanted coats, belts, handbags, shoes, shirts etc please bring them along to coke community hall or you can contact Maria on 0879821594 to arrange for collection thank you.

Our club registrati­ons with GAA Handball Croke Park took place last week, we would like to thank all players and parents for their valuable time and co-operation during the registrati­ons process well done everyone.

New members are always welcome at the club if you are up for the challenge of playing competitiv­e handball or would just like to play for fitness and fun please come along to coke community hall or contact any committee member.

TRAINING for all juvenile players U5 to U15 continues on Saturday afternoon at the DKIT Centre from 2pm to 3pm with the usual €2 contributi­on still applying.

The clubs U15 team have been grouped together with Wolfe Tones (Longford) and Donaghmore Ashbourne (Meath) in the Leinster All County league with our first game against the Longford outfit fixed for Saturday March 2.

Both Darren Geoghegan and Darren O Hanrahan started for Louth in their disappoint­ing 2-23 to 1-11 defeat to Tyrone in round 2
