SENESCHALSTOWN bounced back from the previous week’s defeat to St Colmcille’s by easily seeing off the challenge of an understrength Curraha at Joe McDermott Park.

Three goals in the opening quarter left the home side facing an uphill battle and it was one they never looked like winning.

Dylan Keating hit the opening goal, the Yellow Furze outfit’s first score, on six minutes and Joe Moore and Alan Mulvaney then added to the goal tally.

Curraha improved after that, and boosted by an Andrew Battersby goal close to half-time they found themselves just four points

in arrears at the break, 1-5 to 3-3.

Quickfire points from Mark Fox, Joe Moore and Brian Maguire on the restart left Seneschalstown in a comfortable position.

Wing back Gavin Coyle had Curraha’s opening point of the second half but it was the visitors who continued to dominate. Keating and Fox had further points to increase the lead and the game was over as a contest after Moore struck for his second goal to leave it 4-8 to 1-6.

Curraha’s second goal came from the penalty spot and was scored by Jack O’Connor with eight minutes still remaining, but they didn’t add to their tally after that.

Seneschalstown finished as they started, with a goal, this time from Brian Maguire.
