A STRONG contingent of unaffiliated athletes from the area - recognisable only by their plain white singlets - made a big impression for the second week running in local competition, this time at the Cushinstown Sports in Co Meath.

Tayo Lawrence took his second gold medal of the year with a very impressive victory in the Boys U-8 60m sprint, and his feat was matched in the Under-9 age group by Nathan Robertson over the same distance.

Jack Mc Donnell finished a very impressive fourth in the final of the Boys U-10 60m.

In the girls 60m sprint events Shruthi Prasad took silver in the Under-11 age group, Sholah Lawerence - no stranger to the podium - took a very impressive gold in the Under-12 and her older sister Amelia wrapped up a very successful sprinting day for the unaffiliated athletes with an impressive run in the Under-15 race.

Meanwhile, in the jumping competitions Shruthi Prasad added to her medal count when taking third place in the Girls Under-11, while Tayo Lawrence also jumped very strongly.
