CHRISTY QUAIL R.I.P.
Christy Quail from Georgian Close died recently in his 85th year. Christy was from Pearse Park originally. He moved to Singleton Cottages when he got married to his wife Betty (nee Brady). Christy was predeceased by Betty. Eventually, they moved to Georgian Close where they resided for many years. He also worked in England for many years. The family came back to Ireland and he got a job in Tegral pipes. Christy was a very fit man. He loved swimming, getting up at 6.30 am every morning to go to the local swimming pool. Also, he also walked miles every day when he retired from work. He also joined the active retirement group.
This group would go to lunch or dinner once a week, mainly on a Tuesday in the Pheasant pub in Duleek St. He loved it. He danced until the cows came home. His regular partner was my sister Marie. They both enjoyed the occasion. He was also into pigeon racing. Christy was predeceased by his loving wife Betty and is survived by his sons Terrance and Ronald, and daughter Bernadette, his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sisters Theresa and Margaret, daughters in law, sons in law, Brother in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. His Memorial Mass is on Feb 10th 10.30 am at Lourdes church. May Christy’s soul rest in peace.
