DELIGHT FOR TOP LAURENCE’S STREET PREMISES IZMOO AFTER BIG WIN

IZMOO’S UNICORN ICE CREAM SCOOPS TOP GELATO PRIZE

-

IF you ever wondered what unicorn tastes like, then a trip to Izmoo Gelataria in Laurence Street will set you straight! AND not only do they sell Unicorn Flavour ice cream, they can now call it, the international award winning ice cream after scooping a top gong recently in Rimini, Italy.

Owner Orla Stafford was on hand to accept the award, which came as a total shock to her on the day!

“We are absolutely delighted, and it’s brilliant that we won, and I have to thank our best customers - my two little cousins Alice O’Toole and Edith Murphy - for coming up with the idea for the flavaour, as well as helping me throughout the process,” said Orla on her return.

“It’s actually a plain vanilla ice cream, but we use natural colouring to make it a bit special, and the judges must have liked that.”

The whole process started back in November when a rep for the Gelato Exhibition visited the Drogheda shop, to assist with training, and unbeknownst to Orla and her staff, nominated them for an award.

“It’s a really big deal as this is throughout the world, and considering we are only a year open, it’s a great honour and a lovely birthday present” adds Orla, whose dad Joe owns the neighbouring deli.

“I devise all the flavours and I am coming up with loads more flavours and toppings, which will be revealed in the coming weeks.”
