Greenhills girl Deirdre O’Kane will be a star

DROGHEDA Soroptimist Club members held their summer outing to the Gate Theatre last week to see the Noel Coward comedy, Present Laughter.

Their pleasure in the play was heightened by the performance, in one of the loading roles, of Drogheda actress, Deirdre O’Kane.

Deirdre, daughter of John and Lillian O’Kane of Greenhills, is a very accomplished young actress. In her role as Daphne Stillington she dominated the opening moments of the play and took centre stage in many of the following scenes.

In a cast of 10 marvellous actors, Deirdre gave a superb performance.
