Royals couldn’t ma
TIPPERARY’S greater physical presence and operating in Division One of the league were key factors to their All-Ireland intermediate success according to Meath manager Eamonn Murray (pictured below).
‘They were a big physical team who hit hard and they were well used to Division One football, you could see that,’ a dejected Murray said.
‘It was a cracking first half and we thought that if we were still in the game at half-alftime we could win it. destroyed The wetetcondied conditions us, we are a small light ight team who like to run the ball and d the conditions s didn’t suit that style of football.
‘Tipperary are a Division n One team and nd that stood to them hem today. A lot of our players were not up to that physique and it is going to take a lot of strength and conditioning to get them up to that. They are all good players but they need to be stronger.’ Murray was also of the opinion that Tipperary’s star Aishling Moloney was one of the main differences between the teams. ‘It was the Aishling Moloney show out there, she’s an unbelievable player. She is that good it doesn’t matter about the conditions, at 21 year of age she is the top player in the country. There was no stopping her, she has broken our heahearts over the last few yeayears.’ HoweHowever Murray offereoffered hope for the fufuture. ‘WWe have to start again anand we will. MoMost of our girgirls played wewell but we got turnturned over far too eeasily. When we got turned over they punipunished us. It’s very tough to come here
