ON Saturday last the MacBride Captain’s Day took place and more than 20 club members attended what was a great day out at the St Bridgets Pitch & Putt course, culminatin­g in a meal and the presentati­ons in Kilcullen.

The day kicked off with the customary Three-Person Scramble and the winning team was Audrey Donnelly, Jimmy Flood and Keith Smyth with a score of 33.

The main event of the day was our 36-hole Captain’s Prize, played in beautiful sunshine throughout the afternoon.The overall winner of the Captain’s Prize was Barry Thornton with a score of 96.

Grade winners: Senior - Owen Smith 97; Inter - Jimmy Flood 101; Junior - Martin Kirwan 106; Ladies - Audrey Donnelly 106. Nearest the pin winners: Barry Thornton on 6th hole & Tommy Dyas on the 10th.

In his Captain’s presentati­on speech, popular clubman Liam Flood thanked all those who attended the day and congratula­ted the winners.

Numbers drawn in last Tuesday’s club lotto were 5, 8, 11 & 25 and the lucky dip winners were Paul Moran, Phyllis McCabe and Molly Ryan.

The next draw will take place on Tuesday 24th when the jackpot prize will be €4,850.
