PARISH NEWS

In the month of November we are called to be Families of hope. Our hope as Christians is that death is not the end but that we will have eternal life with Jesus in Heaven.

November dead lists and envelopes are at doors of church. Please return in purple box in the sanctuary area. Deceased relatives and friends are remembered in a Novena of Masses including all the Fridays in November and the First Friday Masses.

“It is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead”

Rosary will be recited each day in November at 2.30pm in the cemetery. All are welcome as we come together to pray for and to remember those we have loved and who have gone before us.

Following an invite from our parish pastoral council, Fr. Malachy Flanagan will celebrate Mass in our parish on Saturday 14th of December (3rd Weekend of Advent) at 7.30pm.

On 10th of July 2019, Fr. Malachy was elected as provincial Leader of the Society of African Missions. Fr. Malachy was ordained on 25th of June 1989 by Cardianal Tomas O Fiaich, here in our church where he was baptised.

We hope that you will join us for this joyous celebration in our parish.

St. Oliver’s Pastoral Area Team will meet on Thursday 21st of November at 7.30pm in the old school, Mell.

A Parish Christmas Nativity Card has been ordered. It has the parish sketch of the church on the front with Christmas Blessings from Tullyallen. Inside reads ‘With every good wish for Christmas and the New Year/Le gach dea-ghui I gcomhair na Nollag agus na hAth Bliana’. Also, it reads: ‘ May you be blessed with the gifts of Joy and peace’.

This card is especially suitable for sending to relatives abroad, or indeed family members in Ireland. They are now available in the sacristy after Masses for €2.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

Tullyallen Slimming World classes are on every Thursday and the times have changed . There were previously 2 classes on Thursday but Amanda has come up with a plan to merge both classes.

Class is now at 6pm for everyone.

This will make the classes a wee bit larger but Amanda with her experience knows that the more people that come together and sit in class after weigh in, the better the results are for everyone.

The members can all share their experiences, successes, struggles and all help each other on their weight loss journey. All existing members, returning members and new members are more than welcome to come along.

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot, Slimming World, Tullyallen is the place to be - there is no judgement, just encouragement and guidance.

Amanda will still be there giving plenty of inspiration and motivation to everyone who comes along.
