Grange Rath wants a Meath council takeover

GRANGE Rath estate on Drogheda’s southside wants to be taken in charge by Meath County Council.

Addressing the recent area meeting in Duleek, Cllr Annie Hoey said that residents had done work to get the estate taken over by the local authority.

Engineer Christy Clarke said it was up to Shannon Homes to make an applicatio­n and the council would then review the estate.

Slane Giving Tree event

WITH Christmas fast approachin­g the Slane St Vincent De Paul Giving Tree is presently in The Hub until Thursday, December 12th.

All donations of vouchers (local shops, food/fuel, Smyth’s Toys, Penny’s, Sports Direct etc) would be greatly appreciate­d. This year there will be a box placed in the porch of both the church in Monknewsto­wn and Slane accepting food donations.

Please do not leave vouchers in the box.

A unique local tour

Rathkenny church event

Get in the mood for the festive season with ‘A Christmas

Festival of Music’ which takes place in Rathkenny Church on Sunday, December 15th, starting at 7pm. Tickets are available in the Sallygarde­ns.

Julianstow­n Christmas Tree festival

Julianstow­n is hosting its first ever Christmas Tree Festival, which willl be held in The Church of Ireland Church and Parish Rooms from Thursday 12th December to Sunday 15th December.

The opening times will be as follows: Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 10am - 8pm, Saturday 11am - 6pm, Sunday Noon -6pm.

Refreshmen­ts are included with entry which is €5 per adult and €3 per child with a family ticket of two adults and up to 3 children for €10.

There will also be a craft and produce stall in the Parish Rooms, with all proceeds being for Parish Funds and for SOSAD
