As both had 42 points over the final nine holes, the countback went to the final six holes and the winners prevailed by 28 to 27.

Members are reminded that the annual general meeting of the club takes place at 8pm next Monday in the clubhouse and it will follow the men’s club meeting which takes place at 7pm.

Meanwhile, in the Australian All Abilities Championsh­ip, Brendan Lawlor finished just one shot off the lead and had to settle for third place behind last year’s winner Johan Kammerstad of Sweden and Canada’s Kurtis Barkley.

Rouiller and Eamonn Sherry are in third. Who will prevail in the final weekend?

The final seniors 10-hole singles competitio­n of 2019 took place on Tuesday last, with 22-handicappe­r Richard Eakin (22 points) winning by one point from Oliver Fox. The Seniors Annual Christmas Scramble will be held today (Tuesday) and all senior members are invited to play and enjoy the meal afterwards.
