SINCERE SYMPATHY

The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Association and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to the family, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends, and all those who were bereaved by the passing of Martin O’ Donoghue, RIP, Smarmore and formerly Starinagh, Collon recently. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you.

AN ILLUMINATING EXPERIENCE

Thanks to everyone who turned up to Teach Raithneach for the Switching On of the Christmas Lights on Friday night 29th November last. The lights were switched on by Steve, Yvette, Ethan, Amelia, Susan, Katie, Riain, Ava Lyndsey, Leslie and Mary Jo. Entertainment was provided by a host of talented young people including the O’Shaughnessys, Abigail, Aaron and Ryan, Nikita Stanley and Dancers from the Farrelly School of Irish Dancing: Ava, Roisin, Lyndsey, Amy and Alex. Rose provided the music, and always proves popular with the attendance.

Everyone present enjoyed the refreshments, it was a very enjoyable event. Great credit is due to Amanda, Michael and Graham who prepared Teach Raithneach in advance of the event.

The lights are ‘ar feabhas ar fad’. Mile buiochas do gach duine a bhi pairteach. Greatly appreciated.

BROADBAND

As you are probably aware, the Government has recently signed the agreement with National Broadband Ireland for delivery of the National Broadband Plan Intervention Strategy. This will see the delivery of fibre to almost 19,000 homes.

As part of their announcement they included the locations of all the Broadband Connection Points, of which Teach Raithneach is one.

It is good news to finally get confirmation from Meath Co. Council’s Broadband Officer that they will be connecting up Teach Raithneach within the next 12 months to high speed broadband. Teach Raithneach can then be utilised by Community Members who wish to gain access to high speed Broadband.

CHURCH BOOK STILL AVAILABLE

The book ‘Celebrating Our Faith’ authored by Michael Reid and Seamus Roe chronicles the history of the Church of Mary Immaculate Collon, and much more. It’s a great publication and read, that would make an ideal Christmas present, for Family and Community Members, especially those living in foreign climes.

The book was published as part of the Church’s 150th Year celebrations. Copies of the book are available from the Parish Office, Church Door, Sacristy, and Sesquicentenary Committee.

BROOMFIELD AND DISTRICT VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Broomfield and District Residents Association will be working hard in the coming months to recruit Volunteers for all aspects of the Associations activity. Please consider where you, as a Community Member, could make a contribution. Any help great or small would be greatly appreciated.

Initial soundings look promising. Association Members will be calling to households in the near future in the hope of getting as many Community Members involved in Association and Community Activity in 2020 and beyond. Thanks in advance.
