MEATH CLIMATE ACADEMY

Meath County Council is pleased to announce the launch of their ‘Meath Climate Academy’ programme. This initiative, the first of its kind in the country, will see a series of climate action training workshops delivered to a number of stakeholders. The first free workshop ‘Citizen Climate Leader Training’, will take place on Saturday, January 25th at Buvinda House, Navan, those interested in attending are invited to book their place as soon as possible. It is proposed that the training will inform people on the climate crisis, climate justice and climate action and empower citizens to take their own climate action, start a climate conversation in their communities and inspire others into action. To book your place contact the Climate Action Team at climateaction@meathcoco. or call 046 9097203.

MR. PAT DURNIN

Pat; predeceased by his wife Una and brother Bernard, will be sadly missed by his loving family daughter Tara, sons Mark and Barry, grandchildren Alex, Oisín and Ollie, sister Marian, brothers James, Henry and Oliver, daughter-in-law Jenny, son-in-law Omair, sister-in-law Catherine, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and good friends. The funeral Mass took place last Friday in the Sacred Heart Church where a large number of mourners came to pay their respects. Burial took place in Reilig Mhuire Cemetery. May Pat Durnin rest in peace.

BETTYSTOWN BLOOD DONOR CLINIC THANKS

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) would like to thank all 96 Donors who attended the Blood Donation clinic in Scoil Oilibheir Naofa. Thank you to Mary Gallagher and friends for their help on the clinic and Ms. Maria White, Principal of Scoil Oilibheir Naofa.

A breakdown of the total figures show that 17 first time Donors and 12 former Donors attended the clinic.

About 70,000 patients are transfused with blood each year in Irish Hospitals. To do this we must collect approximately 3,000 donations of blood each and every week from voluntary donors like you. So it is essential that we maintain and increase the level of support on our next visit to East Meath. A total of 2,463 units alone were required in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda during 2019.

Finally on behalf of all the patients in hospital who benefit from your generosity and a heartfelt thank you to all who attended or helped with our Bettystown Clinic in any way.
