ST MARYS MATTOCK RANGERS 1-14 1-4

ST Marys recovered from conceding an early goal before going on to record a ten-point victory over Mattock Rangers in the Paddy Sheelan Cup at Darver on Sunday night.

The victory leaves the Ardee men on top of Group E as they made it two wins from two follow their opening round win over Hunterstown Rovers.

It was Mattock Rangers who made the brighter start when they found the net in the opening minutes through Ben Watters, but they were unable to build on that score as the Ardee men took command. Karl Gillespie and Jonathan Commins led the scoring for their side while a Cian Commins goal helped the Marys lead by 1-7 to 1-2 at the break.

Mattock were unable to mount any serious challenge in the second half and could only add two further points to their tally, while the Marys completed the victory with a further seven points.
