ST PATRICKS DUNDALK GAELS 2-9 1-4

AIDAN McCann fired in two goals to help inspire St Patricks to victory over Dundalk Gaels in Group C of the Paddy Sheelan Cup on Sunday morning.

The game at The Ramparts saw the visitors take the early initiative and McCann opened the scoring with a goal after just seven minutes.

Points from Jodie Keenan and Joseph Connor helped the Pats remain in charge as they went into the break with a healthy 1-6 to 0-4 advantage.

The home side were unable to mount any serious challenge to the Pats lead in the second half as the visitors remained in control thanks to scores from Aaron Mills and Cathal Grogan before

McCann put the game beyond any doubt with his second goal five minutes from the end.

The Gaels struggled to make any impression in front of the posts and their only score of the half came from a Dylan McKeown goal three minutes from the end.
