O Raghallaighs fight back for win

-

O RAGHALLAIGHS ST MOCHTAS 2-14 3-9

O Raghallaighs came from four points down at the break to get their season off to a winning start against St Mochtas at Darver on Friday night.

It was the Louth Village men who had the better of the first half in this Group B clash and a goal from top-scorer Danny Kindlon had them leading by 1-8 to 0-7 at the break.

However, the O Raghallaighs raised their game in the second half and they struck the net twice to snatch a narrow win.

The Mochtas remained in contention right to the final whistle with further gaols from Cormac Smyth and Craig Lennon, but they were unable to prevent the Drogheda men from coming out on top.

ST MOCHTAS: Jason Callan; Thomas Kindlon, David Lennon, Paddy Duffy; Ben Goss, Liam Lawlor, Conor Garland; Eamon O’Neill, Barry Mulholland 0-1; Craig Lennon 1-0, Brendan Duff 0-1, Liam Kindlon 0-1; Andy English, Danny Kindlon 1-4, Cormac Smyth 1-1. Subs: Paul Tierney 0-1 for B Duff, Shane Kieran for L Kindlon, Stephen Rooney for P Duffy.
