A true legend in the Irish music scene - Mr Rob Strong comes to Ardee on Sunday, May 31. He is due to play Hamills on Bridge Street.

We know there’s lots of talent in our club so maybe you would be interested in representi­ng the John M’s in the Louth Scór. Maybe you would like to try the table quiz (teams consist of 4 people) and you are required to be over 17 years old (as this is for the Scór Sinsir) so that means it is open to senior players or non playing members. A great opportunit­y to represent your club.

Louth Scór evening is on Wed 26th Feb in Naomh Martin Hall and the evening starts of with the Table quiz at 8pm.

The other categories are: Recitation/ Storytelli­ng, Ceili dancing, Set dancing, Ballad group, Instrument­al Music, Solo singing. If you would like more details contact the John Mitchels Irish Language and Cultural Officer Kevin Gallagher.

Ardee Tidy Towns Group will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ardee Library Market Square, Ardee Tuesday 18 February at 6:30 pm.

Ardee Tidy Towns embraces a broad scope of projects including biodiversi­ty sustainabi­lity, and improving our local walkways. We need your help and input.

All members of the community are invited to come along with there ideas and creativity.

DIVINE MERCY CONFERENCE.

A great day out. The annual Divine Mercy Conference takes place in the RDS, Ballsbridg­e, Dublin on the weekend February 21-23rd. A coach will leave Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday February 22nd at 8.15am sharp. The cost is €15 return. Admission to the Conference is €30. Sandpit National School will hold an Open Evening this Tuesday February 18th. This is an invitation to come in and meet the teachers and see the School which has 9 mainstream classes and a new Orchard Room which provides learning facilities for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Open Evening is from 6pm to 7pm.

The Astro Pitch at Pairc Naomh Feichin is available to hire. The pitch is floodlit, has plenty of car parking and those using it can also avail of Hot Showers afterwards. Congratula­tions to the men’s and women’s Basketball teams who were successful in the recent County round and will go forward to represent Louth in the National finals in March. Best of luck to all.

Termonfeck­in Celtic F.C. is entering teams in the 2020 Louth School Girls League. Girls are wanted for U10 and U12 teams. This is open to Girls born before 2013.

FREDDIE GREENE RIP.

We offer our deepest sympathy to the family, relations and friends of Freddie Greene, Baltray who died recently. Requiem Mass was offered in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Termonfeck­in and the Funeral in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheetland Road. May he rest in peace.
