WELL DONE, KAREN

A wonderful piece I spotted from Hunterstown Rovers, accompanied by an image. ‘Kieran Mathews presents the contents of our bingo tuck shop to his daughter Karen who is a nurse in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda as a token of our appreciation to Karen and all the frontline workers within our club and community who are working night and day during this pandemic to ensure the health and wellbeing of all. We thought a small treat during their breaks might ease their day a little.’

Well done Hunterstown and keep it going Karen Matthews!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN

Louth 1957 hero Kevin Beahan marked his 87th birthday last week. Louth GAA wished him a great day and I think the county shares those comments.

Kevin Beahan was a fabulous footballer and although some of the younger crew might not have seen him play, look up old clips of him.

He is one of the leading Louth scorers of all time, with Kevin Dawe and Darren Clarke.

He had what they call ‘a great tan of a ball’, well capable of pointing from range and he perfected it by kicking a ball in two feet of grass near his digs in Raheny in his playing days.

SCOIL MHUIRE WORKS

BRYAN LYNCH SALADS

IT is great to see Bryan Lynch Finest Salads still working away and feeding the nation. At times like this you appreciate great local businesses and Bryan’s crew are right up there with the top professionals in the sector.
